Our 21-Step Detailing Process
Every detail we do follows the same 21-step process. Here is what is actually happening on the car, in order, and why we work this way.
Every detail we do follows the same 21-step process. Here's what's actually happening on the car, in order.
**Stage 1: Pre-inspection**
The car comes in under controlled lighting. We assess paint condition, log any existing damage and take paint depth readings before we plan the correction.
**Stage 2: Wheels and arches**
Wheels go first — that way brake dust isn't landing on freshly cleaned paint. Dedicated wheel brushes, iron fallout remover and an arch dressing.
**Stage 3: Pre-wash and snow foam**
A thick layer of snow foam softens the surface dirt before anything touches the paint. That's how you cut down on swirl marks before they happen.
**Stage 4: Contact wash**
Two-bucket method, grit guards in both, a clean wash mitt. The aim is to lift dirt off the panels without dragging it across them.
**Stage 5: Decontamination**
Iron fallout remover and tar remover dissolve the bonded contamination. A clay bar pass after that leaves the paint smooth to the touch.
**Stage 6: Safe drying**
Soft microfibre drying towels and a filtered air blower so the paint dries without picking up new marks.
**Stage 7: Paint correction**
Dual-action and rotary polishers with the right pads and compounds for the paint. We remove swirl marks, light scratches and oxidation in controlled stages, checking under proper lighting as we go.
**Stage 8: Protection**
Ceramic coating, sealant or carnauba wax — whichever you've gone for. Applied in the right conditions so it bonds properly and lasts.
**Stage 9: Exterior finishing**
Trim restored, glass polished and sealed, exhaust tips cleaned, every external detail tidied up.
**Stage 10: Interior**
Deep vacuum, steam clean, leather conditioning, plastic restoration and glass — the inside is finished to the same standard as the outside.
**Final check**
Before the car goes back to you we walk it under different lights, photograph the result and confirm the work that was done.
**Why we work to a process**
A repeatable process takes guesswork out. Every car gets the same level of care, regardless of what it is or what it cost.
**What it does over time**
Cars looked after to a structured process hold their paint condition, hold their value and need less corrective work down the line.
